Mauricio Sá Ribeiro has over 7 years of experience in User Experience Design, having worked with design for web for over 15 years. Throughout his career, he has worked on many large-scale projects with local and remote teams throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, for clients such as Samsung, Microsoft, Nokia, WWF, Albert Einstein Hospital and UOL.

Among his published works are the co-creation and design of the first peer-to-peer mobile payment solution in Brazil, as well as the concept development and main user experience design for Microsoft Mobile's embedded Digital TV solution for their Lumia line of devices in Brazil.

While working at Nokia's R&D center in Brazil, Nokia Institute of Technology (INDT), Mauricio fully embraced the User Experience Design discipline, where the previously mentioned projects were made. During this period, he's lead the design for many important Nokia projects that required international travels to work alongside the main team. At INDT, Mauricio was responsible for creating novel solutions to technologies developed by Nokia. In his last year over there, his focus was on "new technologies" such as re-imagining the NFC experience, even traveling to Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress 2013 to cover their NFC Experience and network with possible partners for new solutions.

He left the R&D center in 2013 to pursue a Masters Degree in Product Design and Development Management at Northwestern University, in Chicago, where he was gifted with a scholarship to take part in the program. The program aims to not only design and develop the best possible product, but to first find and validate real product opportunities with good return of investment.

More recently, he's led Design and Development teams for a technology startup. There, he got plenty of experience in a more rapid environment, where deadlines are shorter and an agile methodology is essential.

In 2015, he received recognition by Microsoft Brasil as a technical reference in Design, granting him the honors of a Microsoft Technical Audience Contributor. The MTAC program is invite-only and is run by Microsoft Brasil's Business & Development Evangelism area.

With plenty of experience in scrum, agile methodologies, managing remote teams and delivering solutions for digital and physical products, Mauricio's diverse background that involves 3D animation and front-end development, greatly facilitates all means of communication and understanding for most types of projects.
